This has become an optional part of parenting and many parents give up completely. Many children don't see their parents doing anything in the community where they live.
Is it any wonder that because of the apathy of their parents, our children are increasingly inclined to sit back and let the world happen? What harm we have done to our children.
The next time you want to complain about the way our country is run, a lack of discipline at school, or bad decisions made in your church, consider your involvement in this situation.
Are you pointing out the importance of your child's coordination? Did you take an active role in the training? Do you participate in parenting committees? Do you go to your church or just visit and complain?
Your child needs to see that you are playing an active role in the things that are important to you. When you complain about something, what do you do to change it?
Teach your children that our freedom comes with responsibility. Help them learn to take responsibility for their civic duties. Your participation will make your child a more responsible and productive member of our society. Teaching your child's national responsibilities is the responsibility of the parents.
